Creating the perfect sweetheart and/or head table is very important. It’s the space that most people will gravitate towards to when taking pictures during the big toast. Guest will bombard the bride and groom for congratulatory remarks in this space. It’s the truest reflection of the bride and groom’s theme and where the photographer will capture intimate moments, in a not- so intimate setting.
In short, let’s just say it’s important that the head table makes a statement.
Here are a few tips how to make the perfect sweetheart table whether you are the bride and groom or helping coordinate the décor.
Listen -Talk – See
The wedding reception should reflect the vision and personality of the couple. The couple should share their unique style or theme for the wedding reception. The person responsible for the décor should engage a couple of discover their decorating preference or even take clues from items that they may be incorporating into the wedding.
Our Solution:
Check out the blush and navy luxe wedding we created for one of our brides. We spoke to the bride and immediately knew from the few items she brought with her to our meeting that she was a luxe bride. She had a cute silver glittery “C”, along with a matching table sign that read “Mr. & Mrs. Cannon”. From this, we also noticed that she liked personalization and was also a bit creative. It gave us the assurance we needed to create something unique for her.
Stage it with a Backdrop
Couples can create glamourous drama by adding a backdrop behind the sweetheart table. This helps to stage or frame the table to draw additional attention to the couple. Don’t be afraid to add a little sparkle and other decorative elements.
Our Solution to Creating the Backdrop
To create our bride’s backdrop, we brought in our trusted partner, Lavish Events & Prints by Talia to create a custom look. We asked her for soft swoops, bling, and to add in the “C”. Oh boy, did she ever deliver! She even added bling to the backdrop, and we couldn’t help but squeal with joy at all the details Talia paid attention to.
Add a Bed of Flowers
Another beautiful and simple way to create a perfect sweetheart table is to incorporate a flower bed or other floral arrangements into the table décor. The beautiful colors add interest and liveliness. The flower bed can be used as a focal point of the table or accent other decorative items.
Our Solution: Custom Flower Bling Bed
Our bride had brought to us a beautiful stand. However, we knew that we did not want the stand to “stand” alone on the table. We really wanted to be able to WOW her, and to make the sign stand out even more. So we created a custom “Flower Bling Bed” using foam, florals, and crystal ribbon. We topped the look off by adding tulle to the bed to fill in gaps.
Light Up the Night
There is no better way to get your guests attention than to add a lighting source to your table. Lighting can add a dramatic effect to your table. Additionally, it enhances wedding photos.
Our Solution to Choosing the Lighting
Our bride had three different centerpieces, so we knew she loved variety. We decided to do three-tiered bling candle holders on both sides of her flower bed. That coupled with her tulle tutu table skirting with alternating glowing lights added to the romance we wanted to bring to her table.
Creating the perfect sweetheart table is essential. It is the private oasis you build in a sea full of loved ones.
