It’s a new year, and with it comes a slew of new trends to incorporate into your wedding day. After researching the top trends that we will likely see this year, we’ve put together a list of five that we think you might want to check out:
1. Minimalist Make-Up.
Though we know you want to look your very best for your big day, we also know that you don’t necessarily need a lot of make-up to make your groom weak in the knees. The “natural” look is making a comeback this year, and many brides are choosing less make-up overall, and focusing on one bold feature; whether that includes a bold lip color, or a rosy blush.
Pantone recently announced, however, that their “Color of the Year” is a deep, Marsala red. Because of its rich color, it makes for the perfect lip stain.
2. Invitation “Branding.”
Okay, we know, this one might sound a little strange. Most brides have never thought of creating a logo of some kind for their wedding day. But, many weddings are beginning to add a simple monogram or initialed design to the invitations. Couples are then incorporating this design into other parts of the wedding, as well, like the centerpieces, guest book, favors and more.
3. Bold Bridesmaid Dresses.
Gone are the days of horrible bridesmaid dresses (we hope). Brides are now choosing dresses that are more wearable, and a little bolder, for their ladies. These dresses are more colorful than in years past, and may include plunging necklines and/or higher hemlines.
4. Unplugged Weddings.
While some couples may still opt for the hashtags and instagram accounts tailored to their wedding days, many couples are saying no to social media. Some weddings now have signs with cute sayings like, “There’s a guy here taking pictures, we asked him to come. So please rest your cameras, our ceremony needs only one,” to ensure that guests are fully immersed in the happenings of the day.
5. Edible Favors.
Finding the perfect favor for your wedding can be a daunting task, we know. But, wedding experts say that this is the year for edible favors! This can include anything from a cupcake wrapped in a cute box, French macarons wrapped in cellophane (with your branded logo, of course!), or the ingredients to make s’mores.
Twenty-fifteen looks like a promising year for many other trends in the wedding industry. So, what do you think? Would you incorporate any of these into your big day? Or, is there a trend that you hope catches on?
