Local Restaurants and Bars Offer Safer Dining

Have you heard?  Having a night out with friends at a local bars and restaurant is becoming a safer dining experience with each passing day.  In late, January Michigan’s Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, announced a statewide gradual reopening of restaurants. Part of this effort involved a voluntary program that Michigan restaurants could enroll and become certified in the program called the MI Covid-19 Safer Dining. The goal of the program is to promote a safe dining experience for restaurant patrons.

The program involved restaurants committing to work with a licensed HVAC inspector to improve the air quality to reduce the spread of Covid-19.  Additionally, the program also requires the restaurants to follow recommended CDC guidelines such as mask-wearing, social distancing, as well as, limiting party sizes to fewer than six people.   Overall, during this reopening period restaurants are being limited to only 50% capacity and not exceeding 100 people.   These measures along with an aggressive cleaning schedule help to maintain a clean safe environment for diners. With these safety steps taken, couples can feel more confident socializing with a few friends for an evening on the town.
