Tips for Attending a Wedding Show

To make the most out of attending a show, you should consider incorporating the following suggestions.

GIVE YOURSELF TIME

At most shows, event-goers will find a diverse number of vendors. For this reason, you should make sure that you don’t come at the tail end of the show.  Give yourself time to visit and ask questions of the vendors.

KEEP AN OPEN MIND

Each show is unique, so you want to make sure that you are open to new ideas and business that you may not have thought about before.  For instance, you may be attending a show in hopes of finding a wedding reception venue but you learn of a financial planner who specializes in helping newly-weds grow their money to better achieve their goals.  Or perhaps you are looking for a wedding gown salon and you meet an accomplished musician accepting wedding gigs.

BE PREPARED

Keeping in mind that you are attending the wedding show to learn, think like a student.  Make sure to bring a pen and paper to take notes.  It is a good idea to also bring along a tote bag or large envelope to collect marketing items from vendors that you are interested in following up with after the show. Also, have some questions already prepared for vendors.  For instance, if you know that you want to use a certain person to decorate for your wedding, make sure to add that question to your list.  Or maybe you have a key relative that needs handicap accessibility, make sure to ask.
